Divorce<\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row top_padding=”45″][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]If you get divorced or your civil partnership is dissolved while you are an active member of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), your ex-spouse \/ civil partner will cease to be entitled to any survivor’s benefit, should you die before them. However, any children\u2019s pension payable to an eligible child will NOT be affected by your divorce or dissolution.<\/p>\n

What information do I need?<\/h2>\n

If you are in the process of a divorce, judicial separation or nullity of marriage\/civil partnership, dissolution or separation, you will need to provide the courts with a Cash Equivalent Transfer Value (CETV). The CETV is guaranteed for 3 months.<\/p>\n

Each member is entitled to one free CETV estimate every 12 months. Any additional costs for supplying further information or complying with a Court Order will be recovered from you and\/or your ex-spouse\/ex-civil partner. Costs are as per Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Pension Fund Charges (32kb PDF) <\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n
